Board Rules
In order to keep these forums running smoothly and to prevent problems, please follow these simple rules for the forums here. If you have any questions or problems, please contact one of the Staff Members.
Our goal for this site is to keep a fun, clean, family-friendly environment, these rules help ensure that people of all ages and backgrounds will enjoy this board.
General Guidelines
- Members are asked to read the forum descriptions before posting to ensure they are posting in the correct forum. #
- Members should try and use an appropriate, descriptive title when posting a new topic. #
- [NSFW] should be used for content which is not suitable to be viewed at work, school or by a minor (under 16 years of age).Rasicm, Pornorgraphy, etc. should not be posted anywhere. #
- Flaming users is not allowed here. Users found to be flaming other members will have their offending posts removed or the topic locked. #
- Please respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. Give credit where credit is due. #
- Members are asked not to post using l33t speak, txt speak, abbreviated expletives, posting in ALL CAPS in posts, topics or blog posts - it's annoying and takes ages to decipher. #
- Please do not use the PM system for posting rubbish/spamming/flaming/whatever - it does not make you a kool kat, it makes you banned :). #
Support
- Members are asked not to contact staff members privately for support, by any means - keeping posts/topics to the forums may help someone else with the same issue. #
- Members may bump their topic to get it noticed, but please wait at least 6 hours before doing so. #
- Members are asked to not post duplicate topics and or posts, or cross-post topics and or posts. #
MODs & Code Snippets
- Code Snippets provided have often not been fully tested, or only tested for functionality. Support for code snippets is not guaranteed in any shape or form. #
- Support for 3rd party Snippets (i.e. not posted by 6 String MODs Staff) is solely at the discretion of the original poster. It is expected that a minimal amount of support should be given. #
- MODs privided here are develement quality and at most BETA quality. Support questions should go to the phpbb.com topic unless one does not exist. #
Styles & Graphics
- Any graphic work on this website, unless otherwise stated, is © 6 String MODs and should not be used on other sites without permission #
- All graphic work released here is free to be used. We do not require a notice anywhere on your site although that would be nice), but please do not try pass off work as your own. #
Spamming
- Nobody likes spam. I certainly do not. I would rather not know about your cut-price nike trainers or WoW Gold. I get enough of that via email thanks :D #
Signature Specific Guidelines
- Please try and keep signature images relatively small so that the topics may load quickly. Max of 150px (width) by 500px (height), inclusive of text. Images should not be above 30kb. This equates to 8 lines of text #
- Links in signatures are allowed, but please try to use unique links. i.e. not all pointing to the same webpage. #
- Signatures should comply with normal board rules in respect to decency and should NOT contain any of the following: Obscene, Racist, Sexually Explicit, Graven / Graphic, Offensive, Illegal or anything deemed Not family friendly. Such content will be removed. #
Avatar Specific Guidelines
- User defined avatars may contain mild animation. Max of 120px (width) by 120px (height), Images should not be above 20kb. #
- Avatars must NOT contain an image which attempts to portray the user as having an official status on this site or forums (such a mimicking ranks or copying avatars of staff). #
- Avatars should comply with normal board rules in respect to decency and should NOT contain any of the following: Obscene, Racist, Sexually Explicit, Graven / Graphic, Offensive, Illegal or anything deemed Not family friendly. Such content will be removed. #
Moderation
- If you notice an issue which may be against board policy, please use the Report Post Feature located on every post and a Moderator will address the issue, even if that post is not in direct violation (i.e. sig/avatar offence). Please try not to back seat moderate. #
- Members are also asked not contact staff members for moderation (moving/splitting/merging/deleting) of topics or posts. Again, please use the Report Post Feature and a Moderator will address the issue. #
- The Staff reserve the right to edit or remove any post at any time on these boards. The determination of what is construed as indecent is up to Staff Members and not users. Moderators also reserve the right to ban anyone who wilfully violates the board rules, although we prefer not to do so. #
Warning & Ban Policy
- If a member breaches a minor board rule, they will be issued an alert via Private Message by a staff member. This is not counted toward the official warning count of the member. #
- If the member continues to breach the SAME Forum Rule, an official Warning will be issued by a Moderator. #
- Should this exceed three warnings a suspension (temporary ban) of 1 week will be put in place will be put in place. Any attempt to circumvent a suspension (temporary ban) will lead to that ban being made permanent. #
- Members who feel they have been unfairly warned are encouraged to contact an Administrator. #
- Four warnings within 90 days will constitute an immediate permanent ban, warnings will expire after 90 days. #
